Well it's been a month since i written here. I'm really looking forward to this summer: possible summer art classes, i'm trying to ride-alongs with a local ambulance group, and i'm going to shadow a doctor as well. In between times i'll be working on my watercolors and trying to come up with an assortment of works.

the color theory class i took this semester went pretty well, my last piece got an unusually positive feel from everyone in the class. It was a blend of water colors with markers that gave a comic book feel to the entire painting. My instructor thought that if i had done a bigger one that it probably could be sellable for 4-5 figures, he said mostly because of the contemporary yet modern feel it had. I beg to differ, but it still motivated me to continue using the same technique.

Today i went looking for water color artists on the internet, just to see what they sell there stuff for and maybe if anyone used them in a way similar to how i did. I was really impressed by Winslow Homers work and thought that i should try and use this summer to work on just using watercolors and developing my use of them.

In a couple weeks i'll probably put up more of the work i did for class and maybe throw some working drawings into the scraps for all to see.

I've got some work on the way, maybe a couple pencil drawings (I'
ve been working on a self portrait, I did a couple in high school but i can't find them..) and i've yet to get any of my school work back

so far the calendar work is going slow, it's kind of hard to work with someone who draws or sees things differently then you do. My brother's already completed two pieces for the calendar and i'm still trying to push out a first (should have hustled during vacation :-/ ).

Well the school year is almost over and hopefully my summer submissions will include alot more color..actually any submissions will do for now.

Well Art is now an official major for me now, guess i couldn't resist.

haven't been able to do much personal work but i'll be sure to post some of my projects up when i get them back at the end of the year.

Me and my bro are starting up a project. A while ago he made calendars for local volunteer fire departments to give away and sell, the theme was 9/11 and just about everyone in my home town had one.

He decided that we should try again and make some more. So i say eh, why not it'll be fun to work with him and we might even get a good local reputation.

So that's news from me for right now...

Wtf happened here, i leave for a week or two and now the sites completely changed, well perhaps its for the best. maybe it won't be uberslow anymore

well this summer has been a complete waste of time of doing nothing. When i look back on this summer years from now i will kick myself in the ass for spending such a colossal amount of time doing nothing. It just goes to show if I'm not on a schedule I won't do a damn thing.

good news is that i found something to laugh at:

So I stumbled upon my mothers old camera the other day and took an interest in it. I've been spending the past two days refurbishing it (meaning new batteries and a roll of film). I think I might use it to try my hand in photography. I won't be able to get to a dark room so i'm just going to have them developed at Walmart or something. At the end of the month i go to New York for a weekend so i might be able to take some good pictures with it.

Drawing class is going pretty well, i just finished a conti drawing of an american flag, we used it to do a study of folded cloth as well as to introduce new mediums such as chalk and conti. Today we started to doing one and two point perspective with trace points and how to draw stairs in two point and such. It was cool. Can't believe we only have another three weeks before class is no more :(. I'm putting all my assignments in my scraps folder.

I'm now starting to think that maybe a major in studio art wouldn't be such a bad idea. I have to find a way to double major studio art (which are classes i'll have to take during the summer probably at RISD or something) and in Biology BS (which are classes to take during the fall). It's either a brilliant plan or suicide. just something for me to think about.
